Editors running BYO sessions this year are:

Delaram Shemirani:
Drawn to finding the emotion at the core of a story, and building an edit around that, her work has screened at  Cannes, Hot Docs, BFI London and more. She edited A Move, ( by Elahe Esmaili showing at Otherfield this year) (Best Short Visions du Réel, BIFA nominated and acquired by Op-Docs). She has also led panels on editing  at Sheffield DocFest and been selected for the Berlinale Talents Editing Studio in 2025.

Khalid Shamis:
Khalid directs and has edited independent features for over 25 years. He edited Mother City ( by Miki Redelinghuys and Pearlie Joubert showing at Otherfield this year) Titles include The Colonel's Stray Dogs, and No Simple Way Home amongst many. He runs the Rough Cut Lab Africa - the only lab supporting story construction for African documentaries and is also a doctoral fellow at the Centre for Humanities Research at the University of the Western Cape.

James Scott:
A Brighton based editor, his credits include Sundance Special Jury Award / Canadian Screen Award for Editing (Jerry Rothwell’s How To Change The World (BFI/Sky), IDFA DOCU Award., Jeanie Finlay's The Great Hip Hoax (SXSW/BBC), Giovanni Buccomino’s After A Revolution (IDFA/HotDocs/IDA Shortlist), and Dominic Aubrey DeVere & Joseph Curran’s A Story of Bones (Tribeca/PBS POV)
